2023 Information for 2nd Annual Urology Simulation Workshop

This simulation workshop is a highly interactive experience with multiple vendors, fellows, residents, attendings and community providers. AZUS members are welcome to join us from 12pm – 4pm on Friday, August 4th. A variety of cases and stations will be available for learners to engage in a hands-on learning experience and connect about industry advancements. A snapshot of this year’s anticipated agenda is below. We are very excited for you to participate in the Urology Simulation Workshop at ASTEC.

ASTEC is located on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, Arizona, on the 7th floor of the University of Arizona Health Sciences Innovation Building. ASTEC is a 35,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary simulation center. It includes numerous patient and procedural rooms, a centralized A/V control room, a virtual anatomy suite, makerspace, and a 60-person classroom.

As this year’s agenda is still being finalized, we are hopeful you will be able to attend this exciting event.

Parking Information

All participants can park on the top deck of the East Garage, located at East Garage, UMC, Tucson, AZ 85724. Parking can be paid via the kiosk in the garage, or on the Passport App.

Vendor Information

The 2nd Annual Urology Simulation Workshop will take place on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the Arizona Simulation Technology & Education Center (ASTEC).

All vendors interested in participating in this workshop are required to submit a completed Letter of Agreement to ASTEC program coordinator, Ashley Zinn, no later than Friday, June 30, 2023. Once participation is confirmed by ASTEC, vendors must submit their requested A/V needs, electrical requirements, requested amount of table space, and list of equipment to be used.  Unless otherwise pre-approved by ASTEC, vendors are expected to provide their own equipment and supplies. ASTEC is a biological-tissue-free lab, so use of animal anatomy in the simulation space is prohibited.

Vendor Participation Timeline

All times are listed in Mountain Standard Time.

Friday, June 30, 2023 by 5:00 PM   Submit Signed Letter of Agreement

If signed letters are not received on or before this date, participation cannot be guaranteed and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Friday, July 14, 2023 by 5:00 PM   Submit A/V needs, electrical requirements, requested amount of table space, and list of equipment to be used

All vendors will receive one 6-foot table with access to one 110v outlet.  Additional needs can be discussed with Ashley Zinn.  Adding additional equipment without notification may result in a lack of available table space and power supply for said equipment.

Friday, July 21, 2023 by 5:00 PM   Payment Finalized and Submitted

Accepted forms of payment include credit card and check.  Checks must be received prior to Friday, July 21, 2023.  If payment is not received prior to the workshop, approval for participation will be rescinded.

All equipment and supplies must be removed by 5:00 PM the day of the event.  Storage of equipment and supplies beyond the end of the workshop is not permitted.
