David Biffar, MS, CHSOS-A, FSSH

David Biffar is the Director, Healthcare Simulation Operations for the Arizona Simulation Technology and Education Center (ASTEC). He is a Fellow of the SSH Academy, Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist-Advanced (CHSOS-A), Editor-in-Chief for the Simulation Technology and Resource Magazine (STORM), and a member of the Accreditation Council with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.  He has advanced training on the design and implementation of simulation technology and the operational components to maintain a successful 35,000 sq. ft. simulation center with over 30,000 Learner contact hours each year.  He has developed simulation activities for all levels of healthcare, including multiple health science colleges, numerous hospital provider groups, and pre-hospital first responder organizations. His research interests include human factors and usability testing in healthcare environments, efficacy of model-making for assessment of procedural competency, and interprofessional simulation training modalities.
