Laparoscopic Training

One of our most utilized educational modules is laparoscopic training. We offer 5 Storz towers, 2 FLS training boxes, and 1 Simbionix LAP Mentor for learners to practice their laparoscopy skills. These training stations provide a valuable simulation experience for learners of all levels.

Tour groups participate in a hands-on introduction to simulation by practicing basic laparoscopy skills on the Storz towers and FLS training boxes.

Medical students visit the Storz towers and FLS training boxes during surgery clerkship to gain familiarity with laparoscopic equipment, set up, and scope maneuvering. The Simbionix LAP Mentor is virtual reality model also used to guide medical students through basic laparoscopic surgeries and skills training.

Surgery residents frequently utilize the Storz towers and the FLS training boxes to prepare for their Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) test. Additional information about FLS testing can be found at: https://www.flsprogram.org.
